The Historic Plaza Theatre | Miamisburg, OH
When the Plaza Theatre first opened its doors on December 25th, 1919, movie fans needed only 22 cents to enjoy a show.

The Weaver brothers were confident that “if they built it, the people would come”—and they delivered. The new theatre boasted crisp projection, the latest films, a Wurlitzer organ, and seating for nearly 700 guests.
For five decades, the Plaza stood as a beloved landmark. But by 1968, the rise of television and shifting commercial trends began to pull audiences away. The theatre was converted into a western retail store that operated until 2002, after which the building sat empty for several years until its remarkable restoration began.
On Christmas Day 2015, the Plaza Theatre welcomed the community once again, reopening through the dedication of a nonprofit committed to bringing new life to historic downtown Miamisburg.
